Fistfuls of Flounder

Fistfuls of Flounder

We had a really beautiful day in Ocean City with warm temperatures, sunny skies and light winds and there was some pretty good inshore fishing going on.  There weren’t a lot of boats fishing offshore today as most were prepping for the start of the 26th Annual MidAtlantic Tournament which starts tomorrow.  There are 151 boats signed up for this year’s MidAtlantic and over $3.1 Million in prize money is up for grabs so it should be an exciting week of scales action.  I’ll be bringing you leaderboard updates all this week so check back in…..here’s what hit the deck around town today.

Bottom fishing on ocean structure was good for the party boat fleet today with several nice fish coming over the rails.  Captain Chris Mizurak on the Angler had a terrific day with some big sea bass and some keeper flounder, and one angler had a four fish limit of really nice fish.

Captain Chase Eberle of Chaisin’ Tides Charters had a short wreck fishing trip today where he put young Noah Reinfelder on a 21″ flounder and 7 keeper sea bass.

Flounder fishing in the bay was pretty good on the high tide today as well.  Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service had a nice keeper on his bay trip today.  He also had some good shark fishing action on the ocean for some happy anglers.

The Tortuga with Captain Drew Zerbe had a nice keeper flounder on this morning’s trip.

Jan Tapley caught this 22″ keeper flounder while fishing with Steve Tapley and Adrian Tapley on his new 29′ Century from Racetrack Marine.

Earlier in the week Captain Brad McCabe of Bay Time Charters took our winners from our bay fishing trip giveaway out and had a great time.  Captain Brad had Nathan, Michelle, Mason , and Evan Leck on board and put them on some throwback flounder action and young Nathan caught a HUGE mantis shrimp.

My buddy Steve Merther got out for a little offshore action today and had some luck in 40 fathoms outside the Sausages.  Steve and crew had one false albacore and this nice gaffer mahi.

Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing was at it again today and put his shooters on some good action in the south bay.
