It’s a great time to book a charter during the week! There are still plenty of mahi and marlin out in the canyons and the late summer white marlin run hasn’t even happened yet.
Captain Luke Blume on the White Lightning says,”I’ll take dolphin fishing like this any day”, and he means it. White Lightning boxed 53 mahi and released a white marlin in 100 fathoms below the Poor Man’s Canyon on trolled ballyhoo.
The Moore Bills with Captain Rob Skillman and mate Steve Moore had a great day with the mahi as well. Moore Bills caught 36 mahi and released five white marlin today.
Captain John Prather on Ocean City Guide Service was at it again today taking advantage of the terrific flounder fishing on the inshore wrecks and reefs. Captain John had a charter limit of four keepers each for this couple.
The flounder fishing in the bay has gotten a little better….a little. Nick Denny has been having some luck in the west channel and around the Rt 50 bridge in his kayak. Nick has been using buck tails tipped with Gulp to catch several throwbacks and a few keepers. Nick has not yet perfected the “selfie” but he’s got the “footsie” down pat!
