ISLE OF WIGHT PARK FISHING & CRABBING PIER
This pier is located at Isle of Wight Park on the
south side of Isle of Wight off of Route 90 and is a
great place for fishing and crabbing. The shallow
water attracts small fish like spot and croaker and
the pier’s proximity to the marsh makes it an ide-
al spot for crabbing. MD fishing license required.
What and How: Spot, croaker - Hi-Lo rigs with
Fishbites, bloodworm.
OCEAN CITY BEACHES
Surf fishing Ocean City’s in-town beaches is not as
productive as surf fishing Assateague Island, but
anglers can still have good luck with spot, king-
fish, striped bass and the occasional flounder.
Spring and fall are best because water tempera-
tures are cool, more fish are available and there
are far fewer beachgoers enjoying Ocean City’s
Summer flounder can be caught from most most popular attraction. Surf fishing the beaches
land based spots in and around the OC inlet. of Ocean City is permitted year round, but anglers
must not fish within 50 yards of swimmers or any-

ROUTE 50 BRIDGE
One of the best all around fishing spots in Ocean
City, Maryland is the Harry W. Kelley Memorial
Bridge, more commonly referred to as Route 50
bridge. Every species of fish that visits Ocean
City is available from the Route 50 bridge at some
time during the year, and it is the best spot for
several of the more popular species like striped
bass, bluefish, flounder and tautog. Starting as
early as March, anglers can cast and retrieve lures
for striped bass and bottom fish the pilings for
tautog. Bluefish show at the bridge in April or May
and then flounder, trout, drum, sheepshead and
more arrive and can be caught through Novem-
ber. MD fishing license required. What and How:
