This is the first Daily Angle that I’ve posted with an asterisk in the title, but it’s necessary for this particular report. The results are in for the 23rd Annul Captain Steve Harman’s Poor Girls Open, but there is currently a formal protest in the billfish release division. Below are the standings with some payouts as of the end of scales tonight. The junior angler, wahoo, dolphin and tuna categories will not change. I’ll update the outcome of the billfish release category when it gets sorted out.

It was a record breaking Poor Girls Open this year with 161 boats fishing, 747 lady anglers and a record payout of $192,035.
My buddy Eric Sexton was fishing on board the Four Eights today with Captain Tod Cannady and went one for one on white marlin in 100 fathoms below the Rockpile.
Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing took advantage of the nice ocean conditions and put his fiancé Karen Langford Kelley on a false albacore trolling spreader bars.
Captain Chris Mizurak on the party boat Angler reported a little tougher day of fishing today due to currents and tangles, but the Angler still managed some nice flounder up to 4 pounds and one nice mahi.
The ocean flounder fishing is getting better and better for Captain Don Hetherington and the crew of the Judith M out of Bahia Marina. Captain Don’s anglers have been pulling more keeper flounder over the rail and there have been some pretty nice fish in there.
Captain John Prather on the Ocean City Guide Service has been heading out to the ocean for some of the good flounder fishing recently. The keeper ratio is much higher in the ocean so it’s a good call for Captain John to head out there. Ocean City Guide Service has been having good luck with keeper flounder and sea bass, and even caught a couple of mahi on today’s trip.
I got a Facebook submission from Nate Pritchett with something we don’t see out of Ocean City a lot. Nate had his 20′ Grady the Pretty Girl out at the Hambone today and brought back a barracuda. Nate was fishing with his buddy Brian who caught the barracuda. They also caught a decent false albacore on the trip.
