60″ Bluefin Tuna On An 18′ Boat

I’m at a Mid-Atlantic Council meeting in Philadelphia, PA voting “no” on a 28% reduction for recreational anglers on summer flounder for 2024 and 2025 and I get yet another awesome bluefin tuna report.

Tyler Clazabeam and Taylor Bakke set out this morning on their 18′ Nitro Bay center console in search of stripers and stuff when they spotted some birds working on the southeast corner of the bass grounds just over 7 miles off the beach.  Tyler started to cast an artificial lure with his spinning gear and on his third cast he hooked up into something that started to smoke drag.  Just 15 minutes later the guys put the gaff in this beauty of a 60″ bluefin tuna that was estimated at over 130 pounds.  And they were back to the West OC boat ramp by 11 am!  Awesome stuff guys!!

We’ve got our Holiday Sale going on through this Friday, December 15 where you can get two great variety packs.  Flounder fishermen will love our Flounder pack and inshore enthusiasts will love the Inshore pack.  Both come with a Pure Lure hat!  They make great gifts and come with Free Shipping!  Grab them here through Friday…..
