Hit the vid for the Daily Catch at Sunset Marina!
We had a stiff northwest wind this morning that had the ocean a little too rough for fishing action, but the Bahia Marina Flounder Pounder went off as scheduled with a bunch of boats entered. Fishing was tough with the wind and dirty water, but there were some very nice fish caught including a doormat over seven pounds.
Brandon Miller, Ken Yuen, “Flounder” Bob and Jerry Kennedy took first place honors in the Flounder Pounder with this jumbo 25.75″ fish that was 7 pounds, 5 ounces on the Bahia Marina scale. The big fish ate a live spot in the OC Inlet and netted the guys a cool $7,300 in cash. 2nd Place was won by Tony Negron on “The Halfers” and third place was won by Terry Ryan on board Cat Tales. Tony’s 5 pound, 5 ounce second place fish was worth $1,210 and Terry’s third place fish of 4 pounds, 12 ounces brought in $560. Congratulations to all of the winners.
Bob Haltmeier caught a beauty of a 19″ triggerfish and his grandson Jason caught a big weakfish, both while fishing the Oceanic Pier in downtown Ocean City.
The Miss Ocean City bay party boat had some nice flounder fishing in the dirty water this afternoon.
