Day 1 of the 35th Annual MidAtlantic Tournament saw just 2 of the 208 registered boats heading out to the deep and for one of them it was definitely worth the gamble. The MidAtlantic has a record purse of over $6.6 Million for 2026 and a portion of that is the On The Board Reward with over $496,000 in the pot. That total gets divided over 5 days of fishing and over $99,000 per day goes to any boat “on the board.” The Low Profile with Captain Joe Trainor gambled today and it paid off in a big way when they weighed in a 71 pound yellowfin tuna that was the only fish to hit the board today so they will win all of Monday’s On the Board Reward and take home at least $99,000 this week. Congratulations to the Low Profile! It looks like most of the 208 boats will be fishing tomorrow so make sure to check out www.TheMidAtlantic.com to watch the live broadcast starting at 5. I’ll see you there!
