With only 150 of the 382 registered boat fishing the White Marlin Open opting to fish today it was a relatively light day at the scales, but there were some changes and some fish did hit the leaderboard…..one of them hit hard! There was a major change to the dolphin category with a beautiful 50 pound fish, there was a wahoo that met the 40 pound tournament minimum and we had a white marlin qualify as well that was caught by a team that is across the board and is currently worth around $2.6 Million in prize money. Here’s what the leaderboard looks like after two days of fishing.

Jason Kolbe, Mark Ozolin, Ken Hinkleman, Doug and Cody Bard and Vinnie Artrip had a good day of fishing artificial reef and a few wrecks with Captain Monty Hawkins on board the Morning Star today. Jason had the big fluke at 22.25″ and Vinnie had the big sea bass at 18″. All were caught on squid, Gulp, clam and cut bait.

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin Tides Charters had a good night of catch and release shark action last night and followed that up today with some inshore trolling where he put his crew on some bluefish, triggerfish and a few small jacks.

My buddy Randy Swain had Nathan Mangiafico, Louden Swain and Zack Maniafico out for a day of flounder fishing and had some really nice fish. The crew ended up with 10 keeper flounder, five bluefish, two Spanish mackerel and one greenie.

Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing reports that the water is coming into the bay a little cleaner and that is helping with the hunting. Today he found a couple of nice southern rays for his shooters.
