$776,385.00 On The Line

I just got word from Jennifer at the Ocean City Fishing Center that the boats are in and the money has been counted…..the 30th Annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament will have 87 boats vying for $776,385.00!!  The first day of fishing is tomorrow and boats can fish two of three days Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  Weigh-ins will be at the Ocean City Fishing Center tomorrow and Saturday from 4 PM – 8:30 PM and Sunday from 4 – 7:30.  There is a 30th Anniversary party on Saturday night under the tent with drink specials and a live band that it open to the public.  I’ll see you there!  Good luck to all of the anglers and crews fishing this year’s event!

Tuna fishing was pretty good for some boats today.  Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens of the Marli had a great day practicing for the Ocean City Tuna Tournament putting 11 nice yellowfin tuna in the box.

The Jade II with Captain Ed Kauffman had a great day on an open boat trip putting 10 nice tuna and a big gaffer mahi in the box.  Jade II is the only Fish in OC partner that takes up to 12 anglers so if you have a large crew give them a ring.

The Restless Lady had a decent day with the tunas today with the James Delvescovo crew.  Captain Todd Kurtz and mate Tito put them on three nice yellowfin tuna and some shark releases.

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters had some good luck releasing sharks inshore last night.  Carlie and Hailey Pollock had some fun releasing some big sharks with Captain Chase and crew.

I got a Facebook submission from Dutch Workman who had some luck with mates Wes and Dan and Captain Monty Hawkins on the Morning Star.  Dutch caught some nice sea bass including this big knothead.

Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing had some great family fun on the bay today.  Captain Jeff put Mollie and Janie Topa from Rochester, NY on some throwback flounder action and got two thumbs up.

I got a chance to fish today with my WOC Hunt Club buddy Captain Brad McCabe of Baytime Charters and it was a relaxing trip being that I didn’t have to drive the boat and mate like I do in the Fish in OC skiff.  We had 15 throwback flounder and this 18″ keeper that Captain Brad caught on  a live minnow in the west channel.

There has been some really good bowfishing in the south bay for the Fish in OC bowfishing guys lately.  Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service and Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing have availability in the coming weeks for this cool sport if you’re looking for an exciting day on the bay.  Captain Marc of Dusk to Dawn had some good shooting today with some clients from Denmark putting them on a couple of cow nosed rays.
