This weather pattern has gotten COLD son! And it looks to stay that way for a little while. Thankfully there are still some sea bass snapping and the party boats are starting to catch a few more tautog as well. We’re able to keep them this year too with open season through the winter.
I was surprised, but pleasantly to get a couple of fishing reports today from Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star and Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler.

How about 15 to 25? Mostly 23.. We got a mini butt kicking today!
But caught fish.. Fellow asked if we were seeing any tog mixed with sea bass. “Naw! Just sea bass,” I said.
So, of course, next fish over the rail was a tog. It ate squid. Then a couple others. No one had crab!
Also had some decent scup. Where? Why? I guess they came a bit further south than usual before turning offshore.
High man today was Gerald Meadows of Salisbury with 13 nice sea bass and a 21 inch tog. Terry Burgess of York PA barely took the pool with a 19 inch sea bass as Mike Ransing of Bishopville also had a 19 incher – heaviest sea bass wins..

Captain Chris Mizurak reported a picky bite of tautog today, but they were able to catch plenty of throwbacks with some keepers mixed in. Weather looks good for this Saturday when Angler will be running a 10 hour sea bass trip from 6AM – 4PM.
