It felt more like early September than it did Halloween today with way warmer than normal temps in the upper 70s and low 80s. These temps are thanks to the strong south wind blowing warm air into the area that has also got the ocean roughed up for the next day or two. If you can find a spot out of the wind there is some clean water and some good fishing in the back bay. Good luck if you go!
Blake Gunther and Nick Michael found some spots out of the wind today and had a crazy good day of tautog fishing at the south jetty and Martha’s Landing. Blake and Nick used Deadly Tackle tog / bottom jigs to trick up a limit of two tautog each over 16″, threw back three fish that would have been keepers and another 50 short fish. That’s some awesome fishing! Remember, tautog regulations change to 4 fish per person at 16″ starting tomorrow through May 15, 2025.
