I just got back from our final registration for the first ever Flounder Royale Flounder Tournament and it was an awesome turnout. We have a total of 34 boats and a total purse of over $20,000 and there are some really good flounder fishermen battling it out this weekend to see who becomes the “Duke of Fluke”. Our scales are open from 3 pm until 6 pm tomorrow and Sunday and then Sunday evening we will crown the Duke of Fluke and pass out some big checks. First place is worth $5,000!
It’s a rare occasion when no fish get weighed on any given day during the White Marlin Open, but it’s even more rare that if happens two days in a row. I’m pretty sure this is the first time in the tournament’s 52 year history that no one has come to the scales for two consecutive days, but that is all going to change this weekend. There are around 275 fishing days left and just two days left to do it, so Saturday will probably see some action, but Sunday may be crazy! Here’s who’s still leading after five days of fishing. Thanks to White Marlin Open for the pics!

Away from the tournament, Rich Daiker and Will Schindler had an awesome day at the route 50 bridge with live bunker when they landed a limit of flounder up to 23.5″ and a bonus bluefish.

Sean Hitchens, Brian Reynolds and Zeb had a great day at the south jetty today with some nice sheepshead to 22″.
