I just got home from day 1 scales action for the 31st Annual Captain Steve Harman Poor Girl’s Open and even though the weather sucked, it was a great day of action. We had a pretty miserable rain for most of the afternoon, but the action was so good that it was easy to forget about. We had fish land in every category and currently we’ve got two junior anglers leading in the billfish release category. It was a great start to the tournament with just 30 boats fishing! Here’s who’s leading after the first day of fishing.
Billfish Release
1st Place. Luci Bri 4 white marlin 1:43

2nd Place Big Oh 4 white marlin 1:55

3rd Place Sea Hag 4 white marlin 2:35

Dolphin
1st Place Jade II 16.6 Pounds

Tuna
1st Place Restless Lady II 50.7 Pounds

Wahoo
1st Place Marlynn 31.2 Pounds

Away from the tournament, the crew of the Spring Mix II with Captain Chris Watkoski had a great day of fishing with a limit of nice mahi.

Captain Tony Battista of Saltwater Adventures showed this group a great time with a nice catch of triggerfish from some ocean structure.

Mikey J0hnston and the gang hit an ocean wreck where they left the flounder biting and put this catch in the cooler.

Luke Wrye and Mr. Bob had a limit of flounder from ocean structure including a nice 25″ fish.
