I was cleaning out the garage today getting ready to put the Fish in OC / Deadly Tackle Carolina Skiff in the water this weekend and the weather was cool, but nice. Around 1:30 Kristen popped out of the house and said, “The first flounder was caught in Virginia today.” You already know what I said…..LFG!!
The first report of a flounder came in from Captain Steve’s Bait & Tackle with the below photo of Captain Tim who landed the first fish of the season down in Chincoteague. If you need some Deadly Tackle to fish down in Chincoteague Captain Steve’s has got it!
Just a little while later Kristen sent me a text with a screenshot of a Facebook post from Matt at Sea Hawk Sports Center with a photo of Captain Alan and the caption, “Captain Alan always said he wasn’t a “crappie” fisherman, so here he is with the first Sea Hawk flounder for 2026!!”
Congratulations to both Captain Tim and Captain Alan on their catches!
I’m sure there are some flounder swimming in the back bays of Ocean City right now as well. It’s just a matter of throwing on some Deadly Doubles and some Gulp and getting out there and catching em!
