The highly anticipated first white marlin of the 2026 season was caught and released this morning in the Washington Canyon. Captain Dale Gurgo of the Killin’ Time put angler Lucas Pardo on the fish and they will be rewarded $5000 from the town of Ocean City. The $5000 prize for the first member of the Ocean City marlin club to catch a white marlin is still on the table.
Captain and Chase Eberle in the crew of Chase and Tide charters had a mixed bag of great fishing today with Flounder tuna and some golden tile fish to over 40 pounds.
Anglers fishing on board the Miss Kathleen out of Bahia Marina had a great day with Sea bass and Flounder coming over the rail.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler saw good fishing today with lots of sea bass and a few Flounder mixed in.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star had some temperamental weather today, but still saw some nice fish.
Sea Bass on a brisk June morn 6/16/26
Day began with whitecaps from the north; just enough for wavelets to form and crest, not build a sea. After Manny and Tom sent a terracotta unit overboard that future generations might enjoy better fishing than we knew, that wind laid down to less than ten knots with the day becoming ever more calm
..until it wasn’t.
For a couple hours there was just enough NE wind to make fishing a bit of a mess. Joe & Donny had a good tangle drill while we nicked a few fish – Ann’s pool winner among them. Gary took the flounder prize – while sea bass only for the money, biggest fluke wins a reef t-shirt.
Couple nice flounder/fluke came over the rail, some decent sea bass – found throwbacks in abundance. Caught em dinner at least.
Cheers,
Monty
