It’s hard to believe that, at just shy of 90 degrees, today was the coolest day of the next several. Tomorrow we start a warming trend that gets us into dangerous territory come Thursday into Friday and then into the weekend with highs reaching into the low 100s. Heat indexes could feel like 105-110 degrees so stay hydrated and stay safe out there this weekend. It’s going to be crowded in and around Ocean City too with the 4th of July landing on a Saturday.
Captain Chris Watkowski and mate Ben Harding had a nice day in the canyon today with six yellowfin tuna landing in the fish box. The largest fish was a stud at 85.5 pounds.
The Boss Hogg with Captain Alex Beane had a nice day offshore today with 8 yellowfin tuna.
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters had a great day for his anglers putting them on bluefish, flounder, sea bass and more. Then this evening the crew got a keeper flounder and a slot rockfish.
Captain Tony Battista of Saltwater Adventures reported sporty conditions today, but still got the job done on some big triggerfish and a couple of keeper flounder.
Anglers fishing with Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters had some luck putting some keeper flounder on ice on both of today’s trips.
Big Bird Cropper got back from a long road trip and made his way straight to the south jetty where he caught this nice trout on a Roy Rig.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a slower flounder bite than yesterday, but the sea bass chewed well and there were still plenty of flatties around the rail.
