H. O. T.

H. O. T.

Man was it hot today!!  At one point the weather app on my phone read “96 degrees, feels like 110”.  It was almost too hot to go fishing……NAH!  It was a great day to go fishing…and from the reports I received the tuna and flounder fishing were H. O. T. again.

Mike Bostic and his Church Hill, Maryland crew whacked the yellowfin tunas on the charter boat MARLI with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens today. The tunas couldn’t resist the tasty butterfish used for bait. The bite is on and the weather is great. It’s tuna time!

Captain Joe Drosey on the charter boat Rhonda’s Osprey out of Sunset Marina had a good day with the tuna in Massey’s Canyon today also chunking up seven yellowfin.

The Spring Mix II with Captain Steve Selander and mates Marshall Freng and Ayrton Pryor chunked Massey’s Canyon today and ended the day with two yellowfin and a nice mahi.  Yesterday Spring Mix II fished 800-1000 fathoms of the Baltimore Canyon and released a blue marlin and caught three mahi.  Ayrton Pryor, Scott Carstairs and Ed Ernst were the anglers.

The Morning Star with Captain Monty Hawkins reported a good pick today with some nice flounder and sea bass.  A 16-year-old girl put on a clinic today catching three keeper flounder and wining the fish pool.  Randy Savage III had a limit plus one, and his friend who is a great fisherman, but will remain nameless flew the skunk flag…..he didn’t even have a throwback flounder.  “Some other guy” also had a limit of flounder and there was one nice triggerfish.

Captain John Prather on the Ocean City Guide Service was on the flounder in the back bay again today.  Captain John put his crew on six keepers this afternoon.

The Calico Jack party boat out of 32nd street had a great day with the flounder putting their anglers on 10 nice keepers this morning.

Bear at the Oceanic Pier sent in a couple of great flounder pics today as well.  Howard caught a nice 20″ flounder from the north sea wall on a spec rig tipped with Gulp and Nick from Westminster, MD caught a real nice 21 1/4″ flattie under the pier on the pier’s squid.
