10 Pound Togs

By Scott Lenox

10 Pound Togs

Today brought the reopening of MD tautog season and brought smiles to the faces of many bottom fishermen.  With sea bass season now closed and rockfish not venturing inside the three mile limit, anglers will take advantage of the year round tog fishing that is available out of Ocean City.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star will be tog fishing all winter weather permitting and today he put some anglers on some nice fish.  Ralph Driscoll, on left, had two tautog over 10 pounds and Mike Maney and Pat Scida had some pretty fish as well.  Captain Monty said the ocean was “absolutely beautiful” at the end of the day.
