With a breeze out of the northeast, the ocean was a little bumpy, but otherwise today was a really nice day to be on the back bay doing some fishing…..so that’s exactly what Kristen and I did. We hit the Route 90 bridge to catch some spot for a little while and then when the tide got right we headed to the deeper water in the Thorofare to try a little flounder fishing. We used the Deadly Tackle White Squidly with frozen finger mullet and a couple of shiners. We only had three bites, but two of them were Kristen’s 18″ keeper flounder and my 25″, 7 pound 6 ounce doormat flounder. This fish was super fat and is the second largest back bay flounder that I’ve ever caught. Even I was surprised by the weight at 25″, but it was a super thick fish that even had a 8″ – 9″ croaker in its belly. It was an awesome bite, fight and capture and will make a sick YouTube video sometime later this week!
Captain Tony Battista of Saltwater Adventures fished the incoming tide this afternoon and put his angler on two nice keeper flounder.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters has had some great fishing for his charters this week with flounder, kingfish, sheepshead and more.
Big Bird Cropper, Nature Boy and Chris Sisk had a great time today with some throwback rockfish action and 10 bluefish.
Jos Bushnell caught this nice keeper sheepshead fishing structure in the back bay from his kayak today.
Matthew Brannan caught a nice yellowfin tuna yesterday fishing with his Dad Brian.
