A Bigeye, Some Yellowfin and The First White Marlin of the Season

Beautiful day with some great fishing.  Let’s get into it!

The big news of the day was the catch and release of the first white marlin of the season in OC for 2024.  Captain Andrew Dotterweich of the Fish On and his crew were fishing east of the Baltimore Canyon when mate/angler Jake Emche hooked and then caught and released the first white marlin of the season.  Jake will be awarded $5,000 from the Town of Ocean City for his first white marlin of the season catch.  Congratulations to Captain Andrew and the crew of Fish ON!

We had some yellowfin tuna hit the dock at Sunset Marina this afternoon as well with the Boss Hogg dropping a pile of 10 fish on the dock.

Captain Austin Ensor and his crew on Primary Search had a good day of trolling the canyons with 6 yellowfin tuna for the fishbox and some more bites.

The first bigeye tuna that I’ve seen this season came in yesterday at the Ocean City Fishing Center and was caught by Devon Martin and his crew.

Captain Kevin Twilley fishing on board the Fish Bound with Captain Kane Bounds today caught this very nice 7 pound flounder on a Poison Tail with a 6″ Gulp.

We had a great time on our Fishing Trip and Seminar on board the Angler today.  The weather was absolutely beautiful and fishing picked up nicely for us.  The big fish of the day was a very nice 4.5 pounder that won a very impressive $640 fish pool.

The Ocean Princess with Captain Victor Bunting had a better day of fishing today as well with plenty of keeper sea bass and a flounder on board.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star had to work for his fish today, but he got it done with some sea bass and flounder on a beautiful day.

A wonderful calm day at sea – that was not a wonderful day for everyone with a boat (see pics.) After Big Bill made a block drop on Pete Maugan’s Memorial Reef, we got to fishin..
Worked for em all day long. Had a few guys in double digits. High hook used a jig all day – never bait.
High hook yesterday, however, may have been in an exact opposite place today..
Ouch!
Have lots of room in coming days!!
Cheers
Monty
Seth Price caught biggest grey trout I’ve seen in a long time when he landed this 30″ tide runner in the OC Inlet at night.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing showed this group a great time with cow nosed and souther rays in the back bays.
