It was a pretty decent day out there today with sunny skies, decent temps and very little wind…..this morning. This afternoon? Different story. I just got back from a trip to the Route 50 bridge with my good buddy Bryan Mindte of Sunset Provisions and it was blowing a gale. It was an easy 25 out of the south southeast and with the wind against the tide, conditions were very tough. BUT…..we found a groove and a good spot and we caught 12 stripers between 16″ and 28 1/8″ with Bryan landing the nice keeper. It was windy, but it was a great evening on the bay!
My old friend Steve Tapley from Bowie High School caught one of the biggest stripers I’ve seen this year last week when he was fishing the west end of the Route 50 bridge. Steve used a paddle tail on the incoming tide and caught and then released this big fish that he estimated at over 48″.
Kevin McNelis caught his personal best striper of 34.5″ in the Assateague surf this week.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters had Mark Debinski of Bluewater Advisory Group on the boat earlier this week and put the crew on two very nice keeper flounder from the Thorofare. Today it was some throwback striper action in the OC Inlet and fiver more keeper flounder up to 24″ and 5 pounds.

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters put this young lady angler on a big double digit tautog on today’s trip.
Colby Snedaker has been watching our YouTube videos and bought some Deadly Tackle gear recently and put it to great use catching a bunch of flounder around the Route 90 bridge. Colby had two keepers in the mix as well at 16.5″ and 17″. Colby reported that the white Deadly Double was the ticket! Thanks Colby!
Rick Stutzer caught this nice tautog from a pier using his new Piscifun reel and a Deadly Tackle bottom jig.
Daniel Eustice reported in that Deadly Double’s are working up in NJ too as he put these nice keeper flounder in the box.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a good sea bass bite today with plenty of fish to go around. There was also one flounder caught today.
