We had a real chilly start to the day this morning, but it warmed up nicely by this afternoon and with no wind to speak of it was pretty gorgeous. The ocean party boat fleet enjoyed it too and put a bunch of nice fish in coolers.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a good bite today with a very nice class of sea bass. Anglers also had bluefish, flounder and some porgy to go along with them. Weather looks awesome again tomorrow before turning to “poop emoji” on Friday.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star enjoyed a nice class of sea bass today as well….a boat limit of them.
A Fine Day of Sea Bass Fishing 10/18/23 ..that finished with a whale of a tail.
Fished a super light rail today and all great regulars. Had hope of a few more signing on last night but it wasn’t to be.
John, Hurricane & Dave pushed today’s reef blocks by the stern rail at Uncle Murphy’s landing craft reef. I sure hope it was a perfect shot. Seemed like it. That reef will become among our best.
If you, dear reader, know anyone with a line on more landing craft or other .gov boats – you know a .org that’s interested! ([email protected])
A ‘long trip’ advertised – after blocks we kept going.
And going.
On arrival I made a double anchor set. Vic pulled em up when we were limited.
Nice fishing..
My long time friend, Ms Mickey, boxed the first limit, (and Hurricane couldn’t do a dern thing about it!)
Karen from up Aberdeen handily took the pool.
Came absolutely beautiful on the way in – weather was just stunning. Spotted from afar while pectoral fin slapping, we finished the day with some good looks at a humpback whale.
Rare day..
Cheers,
Monty
