We had a beautiful day today with sunny skies, light winds and warm temperatures. We did have to deal with low air quality thanks to smoke from the Canadian wildfires, but there were still plenty of folks enjoying the fishing.
Captain Andrew Dotterweich and the crew of the Fish On had a great day of trolling the deep today and put 8 yellowfin tuna on the dock at Sunset Marina.
The crew of the Boss Hogg had a great day out in the canyons today as well with yellowfin tuna, tilefish and big sea bass for the fish cleaners.
Brian Brannan and his crew had a great day of trolling going 4 for 4 on yellowfin tuna.
The Tortuga fishing out of Bahia Marina found some clean water and some keeper flounder on today’s drifts.
Owen Young caught his first flounder ever on the Deadly Tackle Deadly Double in chartreuse.
Brian Bokulic caught this nice 21″ flounder from the Oceanic Pier in downtown Ocean City yesterday.
Anglers on the Judith M out of Bahia Marina have had some good fishing lately for sea bass, flounder and triggerfish.
Captain Victor Bunting of the Ocean Princess has been putting his folks on plenty of keeper sea bass on this week’s trips.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a picky sea bass bite today, but he still got his anglers on some fish for the cooler.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star had to stay into overtime today, but the extra effort turned into some sea bass for his folks.
Yesterday’s swell having dissipated overnight, a kinder sea awaited as we cleared the inlet this morning.
Man, Myth, Legend – Hurricane Murray his dern self (in the flesh & plenty of it!) pushed today’s reef blocks by the rail at a spot that will one day be worthy of naming. We recorded the event for posterity and carried on.
And on.
Today’s bite was a bit better than yesterday’s. Well, the searobin bite was out of this world. Had to slog it out for our sea bass though.
And we did.
Benjamin from PA had the pool winner. I sure hope they all had dinner. Gave em 2 hours of overtime..
Tomorrow!
Cheers,
Monty
