It was a way more exciting day than I expected for the third and final day of the 25th Annual Captain Steve Harman’s Poor Girl’s Open at Bahia Marina today. We had the fewest number of boats out today and it was rough offshore so we honestly didn’t expect much…..boy were we wrong. By the end of the day one boat had jumped into first and third place in the dolphin category and no one that started the day on the leaderboard in the marlin release category was on the leaderboard anymore. Marlin fishing was really good today and some boats that had today left to fish took advantage of it and really stirred things up. My good friend Captain Willie Zimmerman who started his career back at Bahia Marina smooshed the competition with 12 white marlin releases and Fish in OC charter partners Reel Chaos and Pumpin’ Hard rounded out the top three. Congratulations to all of the winners and lady anglers in the 25th installment of the Poor Girl’s Open. Here’s who won what with APPROXIMATE payouts.

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters had a couple of nice trips today. This morning it was few flounder and a mess of triggerfish and this afternoon it was a nice keeper flounder for a junior angler.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters had a nice day of fishing some bay structure today when he put his crew on some good sized croakers and a couple of really nice sheepshead.
