Another Early Season Mako For Non-Typical

By Scott Lenox

I got a phone call from Captain Terry Layton today with an awesome report of another Mako for his boat “Nontypical”.  Angler Andy Smelter caught the Mako that they estimated at 170 pounds in 60 fathoms inside the Poor Man’s canyon.

Captain Terry reported, “Andy Smelter caught the approximately 170 pound Mako in 60 fathoms inside the Poor Man’s.  We had 63 degree water, had another Mako that wouldn’t eat and caught a couple of blue sharks.  Andy and I were the only two on the boat.”

Congratulations to Captain Terry and angler Andy Smelter on another terrific Mako catch.
