Check out the 2026 Flounder Royale above!
I had a really cool experience up here at the Mid Atlantic Council meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when I met and got a photo with Keanu Reeves! It was a very short interaction, but I could tell that he is an awesome human being like all of the reports say. It was very cool to meet him as a fan of a lot of of his movies!
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin Tides  charters has had some great fishing for his anglers lately. They have been boxing up Flounder, sea bass, mackerel, mahi, and tilefish.

angler‘s fishing with Captain Tony Bautista of Saltwater adventures had another great day today with some trigger fish and some flounder up to 4 1/2 pounds.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky brake charters had another good day for his clients today with sheep head, croaker, spot, Flounder, Spanish mackerel, triggerfish and tautog.

Anglers fishing with Captain Will Poole aboard Local Hooker Fishing Charters had a great day in the ocean with 15 keeper Flounder, Sea bass and mahi.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a good day of fishing over Ocean structure with a nice sea bass and flounder bite.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star had a good day for his anglers today.
Mahi Malfunction 8/12/26
A light northerly breeze and near total cloud cover made for a cool day off there.
John & Dave sent today’s reef unit by the aft rail. It joined hundreds of others (nearing 6K blocks total) that will continue to cause bent rods and smiling faces far into the future
..unlike mahi fishing this morning, which did not.
Dagone things.
Fishing in the vicinity of many recent successes, by 11am I had but precious few mahi come over the rail. Water temps hovered just below 80 – water clarity/visibility was awesome – mahi fishing should have been fine. I have no idea why they didn’t bite (or just left the area!) (Well, of course I do, but will collect evidence first!!)
At noon I had mates Dave & Joe run bottom rods around.
Oyyyyyy….
Flounder and sea bass bit at least. Some pretty ones even.
Holly won the pool with a fine knothead.
An angler well known anywhere pastries are sold (or fish are caught) Hurricane Murray won the t-shirt for largest fluke.
We recovered one of our largest balloons ever today – perfect!
Happy Birthday Cathy!
And a letter I wrote yesterday landed well.. Heard back from quite a few in management.
Sea bass are at a precipice – if we don’t get it right soon?
Oyyyy…..
Cheers All,
Monty
