You see what I did there?! Thanksgiving weekend is a popular time for anglers to get out and bend a rod on some tasty bottom fish like flounder, sea bass, tautog and triggerfish as long as the weather cooperates. The party boat rails are usually full of anglers off of work for the Holiday looking to put some filets in the freezer before the weather gets reel cold and the fishing gets tough. Well today the weather did cooperate and the party boat rails were full and fishing was really good during an awesome Black Friday sail.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star reported some good fishing today over ocean structure. Rudy Lukacovik and Rick had good fishing on the Morning Star today, and Brian, Caleb and Gideon Sheetz had some nice catching of sea bass and flounder.
The Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak was out on the rip today too and reported beautiful, “slick calm” conditions. Captain Chris put his anglers on good fishing for sea bass, flounder and triggerfish.
Ken Yuen had a tough day on the Angler, but was still a good enough sport to pose with his measly catch. I’ll help him out by reminding everyone of the monster 10 pound flounder he caught on board around the same time a few years back.
