Awesome Fishing Inshore and Offshore

Fishing is awesome right now!  If you are waiting for the internet to tell you that it’s time to get to Ocean City and go fishing, the wait is over….not that I’m the internet….but you know what I mean.  Inshore fishing is kicking into high gear with more and more keeper flounder being caught in the bay along with some keeper rockfish.  Offshore, the tuna fishing is some of the best I’ve seen in a while, there are some really nice gaffer mahi in the mix and there are more and more billfish being caught every day.  The weather this weekend looks questionable, but after that, if you’ve got your own boat and are interested in targeting one of these species you need to make plans to get out there.  If you don’t have your own boat and you’re interested in fishing, you’ve got to check out our party boats and inshore and offshore charters right here at FishinOC.com.

Jason Hinton and his crew from Solomons, Maryland had a fantastic day catching big yellowfin tuna on the charter boat MARLI with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens today. The 12 large yellowfin were caught on spreader bars and ballyhoo in the Norfolk Canyon.

The Boss Hogg fishing out of Sunset Marina had an awesome day out in the Norfolk Canyon as well today.  Boss Hogg put their crew on eight nice yellowfin tuna and a white marlin release.

The Spring Mix II with Captain Steve Selander and mate Captain Chris Watkowski had a great day in the Washington Canyon today.  John Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Ayrton Pryor and Paul Lebling combined forces to catch six nice yellowfin tuna and release six short fish.  All tuna were caught on ballyhoo, spreader bars and cedar plugs….and they captured an awesome sky as well!

The wreck and reef fishing has been really good as of late with the local party boat fleet catching more and more flounder with their sea bass.  Today the Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak had some awesome fishing.  The Angler had several sea bass and keeper flounder and one angler even had a four fish limit of flounder up to 3.5 pounds.

Inshore specialist Captain John Prather on the Ocean City Guide Service has been having some great fishing around the south jetty and in the back bays of Ocean City.  Captain John has been putting anglers on more and more keeper flounder and even some keeper sized rockfish.  Captain John has also been having a great time with small rockfish, bluefish and hickory shad around the route 50 bridge which is a lot of fun for kids and adults.
