I had the opportunity to fish on the Angler with my buddy Mike Dzurnak today for a new episode of Hooked on OC and we had some awesome flounder fishing. We cruised through some rain and thunder on the ride home, but before that it was great flounder fishing for most everyone on board. There were several flounder limits around the rail and Mike and I both had three keepers each with some nice fish in there. My two biggest went 21.5″ and 22″ while Mike won the fish pool with a nice 24.5″ fish that was just shy of 6 pounds. Mike was using the Deadly Tackle Hi Lo 5/0 and I was using Deadly Tackle bucktails to put some fillets in the fish box.
It sounded like tuna fishing offshore was slow for most, but Captain Dale Lisi of Foolish Pleasures did make the most of the one bite they did get and put this fat yellowfin in the boat.
The Boss Hogg with Captain Alex Beane saw some of the better action offshore with a blue marlin release, a white marlin release and five yellowfin tuna.
Captain Mark Hoos of the MARLI had owner Mike Bostic and crew out today and put a nice pile of blueline tilefish on the dock.
Captain Tony Battista of Saltwater Adventures had a nice 4th of July weekend with plenty of flounder and some triggerfish for his charters. The good luck continued this evening at the Route 50 bridge with a couple of keeper flounder of 19.5″ and 21″.
Alisia Harman fished with her husband Jesse at the Route 50 bridge and landed this stud bluefish on a Roy Rig.
