It seems as if things are getting a little closer to normal, at least for time being. This past weekend the weather and the fishing were incredible. The past few days the temperatures have cooled slightly and the fishing has been a little more hit or miss.
I got a report from Wes Pollitt who mates on the Morning Star with Captain Monty Hawkins today and the report is that fishing was really good today.
We had some great fishing today. We anchored up and immediately were greeted with some really nice sea bass. Plenty of 15″ and bigger fish with a few bonus tautog (released) mixed in. We wound up with a boat limit. Adam Keller won the fish pool with a 20.5″ sea bass.

Afterwards, it was back to reef duty where we were able to pull a mooring we had set in the morning for the Iron Lady. they built a beautiful reef today on the Brian Souerzopf memorial reef site. We also pulled a mooring we had used earlier in the week at the Al Berger reef.
Wes also reported that Mitch Quillen took his boat the Catch 22 out to try his luck on the rockfish today. Mitch, his son Mitchell and mate Dave Schulte were rewarded with three keepers on seven bites. The fish were caught on umbrella rigs off of Sea Colony in Bethany Beach, DE.

Big thanks to Wes for the report!
