First things first….Day 5 in the Ocean City Marlin Club Rockfish Tournament only saw four boats fish today and nothing was weighed at Atlantic Tackle this afternoon. Here is what the leaderboard looks like with four days of fishing to go.
I had the pleasure of jumping on board the Angler today with Captain Chris Mizurak and mate Captain Dean Lo to film a new episode of Hooked on OC. Chief and Horsey of 28th Street Pit and Pub chartered the boat for some of their employees and everyone had a really good time. We had steady sea bass action all day and although we had to weed through several throwbacks, everyone on board went home with dinner. There was one nice flounder caught that weighed three or so pounds and the fish pool winner was actually a really nice triggerfish that probably weighed four pounds.
Captain Jeremy Blunt took the Wrecker out of The Ocean City Fishing Center today to make a run at the rockfish and had some success. Captain Jeremy along with Chris Little, Piper Blunt, Jamie and Charlie Galli and Kyle, Lisa, Rachel, Luke and Lee McAteer caught six nice keeper rockfish off of NJ. The fish are still hanging to the north of us with good numbers off of Wildwood and Cape May, NJ and if they run this way like they usually do, we could have one heck of a January.
