We had another beautiful day today with unseasonably warm temperatures, no precipitation and very light winds. The wind was almost too light to get a good drift this morning, but there was enough current for some folks to find some keeper flounder.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters was able to put this angler on a keeper flounder in tough conditions behind Assateague Island.
Bud Heim landed this very nice 21″ flounder in the Thorofare.
Mike Johnston and his crew had three keeper flounder behind Assateague this morning with the largest being this 20.5″ fish.
Yesterday, Captain Will of Local Hooker charters had a great afternoon for his group putting them on four nice keeper flounder.
Big Bird Cropper caught this nasty looking striped bass at the route 50 bridge and properly released it without contact. This is a form of mycobacteria that has been found on some striped bass in Ocean City’s back bay recently. If you catch one of these fish use care and avoid touching if you can. especially with any type of cut, scrape or lesion on your skin. Some forms of bacteria found on fish are contagious and can be very toxic. Better safe than sorry.
