It was a busy day…and night out in the canyons as boats were out trying their luck before the wind starts to blow for the weekend and the fleet was on the fish again.
Captain Joe Drosey on board Rhonda’s Osprey out of Sunset Marina had an awesome day in the Washington Canyon today. Captain Joe put his crew on five keeper yellowfin tuna and two really nice bigeye tuna weighing 130 and 160 pounds.
Brian McCarthy and his crew from Lewes, Delaware had a fantastic bite on the MARLI with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens. They released 30+ under size yellowfin tuna, released a white marlin and boxed 12 big yellowfin tuna.
My buddy Austin Ensor fishing on his Primary Search out of Sunset Marina had an awesome 25 hours in the deep overnight and into today. Austin and crew had fun with the sharks overnight catching and releasing two hammerheads estimated at 300 pounds and killing a 150 pound mako. They also caught six yellowfin tuna up to 58 pounds, gaffer mahi and released an estimated 500 pound blue marlin. That’s some awesome fishing!
The crew of the Wrecker with Captain Jeremy Blunt fishing out of the Ocean City Fishing Center had a good day in the canyons catching a dozen yellowfin tuna, killing nine and a nice mahi.
The Boss Hogg fishing out of Sunset Marina had a nice day with seven yellowfin tuna and a white marlin release.
The C Boys fishing out of Sunset Marina with Captain Luke Blume had a good day today with owner Paul Crampton Jr., Paul Crampton III and John. The crew released countless throwback yellowfin, boxed four keeper yellowfin and two mahi and jumped a white marlin off.
I got a report today from my boys over at Coastal Killers. Erik Makinen and Tim Pruitt caught a big wahoo yesterday out of Chincoteague, VA fishing 200 fathoms between the Norfolk and Washington Canyons. Hooked on an 8oz wahoo rigged Joe shute with select ballyhoo.
