Man the wind was cranking today!! Strong winds out of the south had whitecaps rolling up the bay and I’m sure the ocean was no treat either. We had sunny skies and warm temperatures however, so there were some anglers out trying their luck.
I got a Facebook message this morning from Captain Mark Malamphy with a photo attachment showing a big fat mako that he caught yesterday. Captain Mark, Jim Conway and Rob Griggs caught a 249 pound mako on board the Finatic yesterday in the Poor Man’s Canyon and took some great shots of this awesome fish.
I received a tip from Big Bird Cropper that he saw a couple of guys “killing” the big bluefish along the 3rd street bulkhead behind the baseball fields in downtown Ocean City. I had a few minutes to investigate so I ventured down and met two great guys who had come to Ocean City to do some fishing. Rashad Carr and Lando Norris drove down from Washington D.C. today and absolutely smashed the big blues from the 3rd street bulkhead. The duo combined for 15 bluefish between 30″ and 36″ on cut bait.
