The February black sea bass season is in the books and it closed out with a real bang the last two days of the season. The weather was bad in February so boats were tied to the dock way more than they were on the water, but it was still nice to take advantage of some good fishing when Mother Nature cooperated.
Captain Victor Bunting and the crew of the Ocean Princess were fishing out of Chincoteague, VA for the February season and they finished up with some really nice fish. They had limits around the rail, caught a rare yellowfin bass and the biggest sea bass was a big knothead of 5 pounds 11 ounces.
Captain Kane Bounds and the crew of the Fish Bound were also fishing out of Chincoteague, VA and had a great season even though they wish they had more days out. Captain Kane saw good fishing when the weather cooperated with limits of sea bass most days, some really nice tautog and even a couple of keeper flounder.
