BIG Tuna Coming Out of North Carolina

BIG Tuna Coming Out of North Carolina

There’s no doubt that this winter has been a tough one with cold temperatures, plenty of wind and more snow than we’ve seen in several years in the area.  Today, however, showed signs of what’s to come.  We had little wind, sunny skies and temps in the low 60s in and around Ocean City.  There’s still not much going on fishing-wise in the area, but I did get a great report of some awesome bluefin fishing out of North Carolina from some of our partners.

Brendan Hanley had the Pure Lure crew down on the RoShamBo with Captain Willie Zimmerman fishing out of Wanchese, NC and they had a great day with beautiful weather and a great fish.  Brendan, Ian Hanley, Hunter Kurtz, Kevin McCabe, Zeb Zebley, Bobby Layton and Miranda joined Captain Willie and mates Joey Marowski and Evan Evans for a day of fishing that ended with a beautiful bluefin tuna on the deck.  The crew boated this 102″ bluefin tuna and was headed back to the dock before lunch on flat calm seas.  The fished dressed out at an impressive 467 pounds.
