Today was the final day of the unseasonably warm temperatures, but it is not the final day of the wind. Tomorrow we start to see a chance for rain, temps will fall into the low 60s at times over the next few days and the wind will be blowing through Sunday. Not the Memorial Day Weekend we hoped for, but we’ll try to make the most of it.
Before the wind started blowing, Captain Chase Eberle and his crew on Chasin’ Tides Charters was having success in the offshore bottom fishing department catching some big sea bass, some tilefish and one bluefin tuna that went over 60 pounds that was caught on a jig.
Yesterday, Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters had a nice day in the wind catching some flounder with one keeper and a nice bluefish that was 34″ and over 10 pounds.
Alisia Harman landed her first ever Route 50 bridge striper on a Roy Rig and it was a beautiful 31″ slot keeper.
