Captain Monty Hawkins on the party boat Morning Star was out on the ocean today and he said it was “bloody cold!” Well it’s about to get colder. Ocean City is looking at the possibility of some wintry precipitation tonight as a small front pushes through the area, but we could be looking at something significant for the weekend. Friday night into Saturday temperatures are supposed to drop and have high temperatures in the mid 20s on Saturday. These temps combined with a coastal low that will be moving by could mean some snowfall for the area. It’s tricky to forecast snowfall for Ocean City since we are so close to the ocean, but currently we are forecast for anywhere between three and eight inches total for Friday night and Saturday. We’ll probably have some sort of snowfall guess giveaway on our Facebook page so check there before it starts tomorrow night. We don’t really know what’s going to happen with the snow, but the wind is sure to blow so we probably won’t see anyone on the ocean for several days.
Captain Monty had some decent fishing today and reported nice sea conditions, but “bloody cold!” air temperatures. That didn’t stop the die hard tog guys from putting some nice fish in the box. These ninjas laid the Chuck Norris on a couple of good fish and mate Wes Pollitt landed a 22″ fish for his cooler as well.
Two Fish in OC charters that are not worried about this weekend’s weather one bit are Captain Joey Drosey and Captain Brandon Speilman who are both running out of Florida right now. Captain Joe has been putting anglers on board Rhonda’s Osprey on some good sailfish and mahi recently out of Singer Island, FL.
Captain Brandon on 5 Star Sportfishing has been having some great luck putting anglers on yellowtail, red snapper, mackerel and some big old mutton snapper in the Florida Keys.
