This season is certainly getting off to a good start! The weather and fishing in the first part of April definitely left something to be desired, but the last two weeks of the month have really turned around providing a nice weather pattern and some really good fishing.
I got another text message from Josh Ensor today and this time it was reporting his own fishing efforts. Josh and Jeff Rosenkilde ventured out to the canyons yesterday and found 66 degree water in between the Wilmington and Baltimore. They enticed this beauty of a bluefin tuna with a skirted ballyhoo in 62 degree water for the first official tuna caught out of Ocean City. The bluefin tipped the scale at 133 pounds and was weighed at Sunset Marina in West Ocean City.
Tracy Gurry, Teresa Eder and their crew had a banner day on the charter boat MARLI with Captain Mark Hoos and Mate Mark Stephens fishing in Solomons, Maryland today. They boated their limit of spring trophy stripers and made it back to the dock in time to enjoy breakfast. Captain Mark reports that fishing is HOT right now!!
Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing was on the throwback stripers today in Ocean City. Captain Jeff took a sunset fishing trip to the route 50 bridge and was able to catch and release four schoolie sized rockfish and watch an awesome Ocean City sunset.
