We’re 1/3 of the way through November and we are still seeing some really good fishing for bluefin tuna in the ocean, and there are still some sheepshead being caught in the OC Inlet. Ocean bottom fishing should get better as we move into the fall with cooling water temperatures as well so there are plenty of choices to bend a rod.
Captain Dale Lisi of Foolish Pleasures had a nice day yesterday at the Jackspot putting his crew on three “under” bluefin tuna.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters had a good day for his anglers today in the OC Inlet putting them on loads of tautog, some sheepshead and some rockfish action.
Brian Reynolds had a good day of fishing the OC Inlet today as well with keeper tautog up to 18″ and some catch-and-release rockfish action.
Yesterday, Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star stayed a little late, but his clients appreciated he effort and ended up with a nice catch.
Maybe the weatherman didn’t have it quite right this morning? Wasn’t too bad, especially for a north wind. Later winds all but died completely. Came beautiful..
George–his sidekick Tyler in school no doubt, gave our reef blocks a shove atop Capt Bob’s Reef before pressing on.
My first stop was nearly all shorts ..as was my second.
And my third!
UhOh..
At stop number 3 things began to come our favor. George used his reef builder’s karma to boat two pretty fluke; there were numerous keeper sea bass around the rail as well.
Kept working on em. In 2.5 hours late – well after sundown. Caught a few limits; well, Frank’s sea bass limit and another plus George’s limit of sea bass & fluke(!) Certainly many nice fish around the rail with most in double digits.
Shelly generously allowed a split pool with Steve. IDK? Maybe it really was a tie? I just heard rumors… I do know they won the pool against a lot of competition!
Will lay in tomorrow and likely do reef work. The Reef Foundation’s fall raffle keeps me right busy, promise. We give away nice prizes every week, then grand prizes New Year’s Day. Absolutely worth doing – raffle sales help build reef!
