It was a rainy, miserable start to the day today. It rained steady until mid afternoon and then it finally cleared up enough for some of the inshore fleet to get out. The offshore fleet has been having a harder time finding a good number of yellowfin tuna in the canyons so they’re fishing a little more inshore for bluefins and having some luck.
Captain Joe Drosey on Rhonda’s Osprey had a good day with the bluefin tuna today catching three under 47″ fish and one over 47″ fish.
The Spring Mix II out of the Ocean City Fishing Center with Captain Chris Watkowski and mates Marshall Freng and Ayrton Pryor fished the Chicken Bone with a group from NJ today and had a good day with the bluefin tuna. The crew caught three bluefin tuna on trolled ballyhoo and cedar plugs.
Captain John Prather on board Ocean City Guide Service had another good day with the flounder today. Captain John headed out after most of the rain had stopped and used white Gulp baits to put his party on six nice keeper flounder.
By buddy Nick Denny had some pretty good luck with the flounder as well fishing from the route 50 bridge. Nick caught a bluefish, 12 throwback flounder and three keepers fishing the outgoing tide.
I got a great report from Bear at the Oceanic Pier this morning. Charlie Bock from Coatsville, PA had a great day fishing the south jetty. Charlie used “electric” eels from the Oceanic Pier to catch a 29″ and 32″ rockfish and a beautiful 28 1/4″, 6.5 pound trout that was good for a citation.
