We had a little breeze today, but overall it was nice with plenty of sunshine and really nice temperatures in the 70s. Being a weekday fishing pressure was light, but there were still anglers out taking advantage of the fishable conditions as there is good fishing in the bay, ocean bottom fishing has been really good and there are plenty of bluefins around 30 fathoms. Captain Jeremy Blunt of the Wrecker had his three “under” bluefins today and reported “east bound traffic was light” this morning.
It doesn’t happen often, but when it does it sure is nice. That’s about what Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star said this afternoon referring to his boat limit of sea bass and early return to the dock. Captain Monty reported a full boat limit of 15 fish for everyone on board today and it happened fast enough for Morning Star to be back in the slip early. Weather looks good the rest of the week so if you’d like to get on some of this sea bass fishing give our party boat partners a ring. FishinOC.com/partyboats
Bay fishing pressure was light today as well, but Bear down at the Oceanic Pier did say he had some clients out trying to bend a rod. Bear got this quick shot of an angler with a nice keeper sized flounder caught from the pier this afternoon on the outgoing tide.
