This weather is unbelievable……unbelievably bad. Except for a short glimpse this afternoon, I haven’t seen the sun for almost a week. The wind has been blowing out of the north and northeast the past few days and it’s rained every day this week. Not real conducive for fishing and fishing reports. There is less rain in the forecast for this weekend and we may even see the sun at times, but the wind looks like it blows with the clear skies. Hopefully it gets straight soon!
Tom Distefano and his crew braved the elements over on the Chesapeake Bay today with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens on the Marli and were rewarded with a limit of trophy rockfish. The crew also released six other big stripers on the trip. Captain Mark is available for charter over on the Chesapeake on Monday and the weather looks pretty decent. Check Marli out here if you’d like to book on short notice. http://fishinoc.com/offshore/marli/ You can also check Marli’s exploits out on Instagram @marlisportfishing.
The rain looks like it will hold off long enough to hold the Ocean City Marlin Club’s 11th Annual Nautical Flea Market. Folks will have all sorts of fishing related stuff for sale at the club from 8AM til Noon tomorrow and most of it is on deep discount. I’ll be there with Dave Messick selling some Hooked on OC shirts. Short sleeve will be $15 or three for $30 and long sleeve will be $20 and three for $50. Hope to see you there!
