It looks like this Memorial weekend may be shaping up to be one of the busiest in a long time. There were pictures and posts all over Facebook today talking about and showing crazy traffic, packed beaches and a ton of boats…..and it’s only Friday. The wind was absolutely cranking this afternoon, but there was some fishing to be had before it started, and the wind forecast for the weekend looks pretty good so I’m certain the bay will be packed, there are going to be some boats looking for the #firstwhitemarlinoc and we should have a good 8th Annual Ocean City Marlin Club Memorial Day Tournament. If you decide to head out to Fish in OC this weekend be safe….it’s going to be busy.
Captain Jason Mumford of the inshore charter boat Lucky Break was able to take advantage of the lighter winds on his trip this morning. Captain Jason was able to put his crew on two bluefish and one 17″ keeper flounder on a Zman white paddle bait.

Blake Gunther of the ocean city fishing community started his fishing day super early today. Blake headed south from Fenwick at 5:15 this morning even though the tide wasn’t ideal so he could beat the crowds and the wind that was gonna blow. Blake used Gulp shrimp to catch a skate, a couple of throwback flounder and this 18.5″ keeper flounder.

Captsin Monty Hawkins of the party boat Morning Star headed out to the rip this morning hoping to get in some sea bass fishing before the wind. Captain Monty reported that sea bass fishing was “A-ok” today with plenty of fish coming over the rail including this beauty by living legend “Hurricane” Murray.
