Hit the vid for Daily Catch at Sunset Marina!
It’s been a relatively quiet weekend as far as crowds and fishing was concerned. I think crowds and traffic were light because everyone is coming for next week’s 4th of July Holiday, and fishing was off because Mother Nature was in a bad mood. Hopefully she’s in better spirits this week as I anticipate LOTS of folks coming to the area and LOTS of them are going to want to got fishing.
Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service is seeing a good start to the season with bent rods and smiling faces. Captain John has had plenty of luck both in the OC Inlet and just off the beach. The inlet has produced flounder, bluefish, trout and some nice rockfish while the inshore lumps are producing bonita, Spanish mackerel, bluefish and even one keeper cobia.
Rich Daiker caught some keeper flounder at the route 50 bridge today, and last night before sunset he had a limit of flounder up to 20″ on live spot.
Chase and Rilee Neumayer had a nice day fishing with their dad Dave yesterday. Chase caught this 24” blue on a live spot during the incoming tide. Dave caught a 23” blue on live spot. Rilee caught 8 short flounder all on live minnows.
