Couple Fish

Couple Fish

You still can’t tell from the humidity, but the official start of fall is just a few short days away.  It does look like we move into a more seasonal pattern next week with temps in the 70s during the day and low 60s at night so more and more inshore species are going to snap as the back bay waters cool down.  Offshore it looks to be a tad snotty tomorrow, Friday looks to be a fishable day and then Saturday it starts to blow again.  If you’re looking to get in on the white marlin bite time is getting short.

Captain Drew Zerbe of the Tortuga had some decent fishing today inside of the inlet. Eddie Dann from Verona, NY and Amy Schindler from Parkville, MD display a couple of nice fish caught on shiner and squid combos today.  Amy’s fish was larger at 20 1/2″, 4 lb. 1 oz and is the new season-long Derby Leader.  Both fish met their demise by the net of mate Serge Gardner.

Adam at Bahia Marina sent this photo of Sue Ann Caruso who landed a nice 7 pound, 4 ounce sheepshead on a sand flea while fishing at the north jetty.

Captain Jeremy Blunt of the Wrecker got a chance to do some fishing with his daughter Piper for his birthday and was able to help her catch her first rockfish while fishing around the route 50 bridge.
