It was a hot one today, and the wind cranked up this afternoon, but it was still a good day to get out and do some fishing. The ladies had a great day for day 1 of the Heels N’ Reels Tournament put on by the Ocean City Marlin Club.
These young anglers had a great time catching a couple of keeper flounder on board Lucky Break Charters with Captain Jason Mumford.
Anglers fishing on board the Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak had a good time with a few flounder and a bunch of sea bass.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star enjoyed today’s fishing with some nice sea bass coming aboard.
A hazy summer’s morn, we left at 7 after toetap-waiting on 3 no shows that burnt our half hour headstart.
Though gorgeous escaping seaward; was a calm that wouldn’t last. We had a classic summer southerly wind out front today: a solid fifteen knot breeze, somewhat switchy and choppy.
Jeff sent a pair of reef pyramids flying off the stern like an Olympic synchronized dive team; we struck a course east..
Alas, schools of mahi were not to be found this day. Did catch a single peanut then spent half our angling time icing some decent sea bass.
Dennis caught a tailless jumbo to take today’s mini pool.
Lot of concern about coming forecasts. South winds – have to go look!!
Cheers,
Monty
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing is in mid season form and his shooters are enjoying rays for days in the south bays both day and night.
