80 boats decided to give it a go today for day two of the 31st Annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament and there were some changes to the leaderboard. By most accounts it wasn’t a great day of fishing, but it was really good for some so there was definitely some damage done to the leaderboard. Captain Mark Hoos and the crew of the MARLI are holding on to 3rd place with their strong first day stringer of 260 pounds so they are looking for a few fish to jump back into the lead on day 3. Paul Lebling of Spring Mix II had a pucker factor of 10 for a few minutes when another jumbo mahi hit the deck, but it fell just short so Paul only has one day left to sweat. Here’s the leaderboard after two days of fishing. Thanks to Dave Messick of Hooked on OC for the shots!

Outside of the tournament there was also some pretty good fishing going on with several white marlin being caught and released. Mike Burt of Pumpin’ Hard reported in that the crew was 5 for 7 on white marlin releases and boxed 10 nice mahi. They also deep dropped and caught and released a 45″ swordfish today.

My buddy Eric Sexton skipped the perch fishing today and headed to the deep to get on some trolling action. Eric fished with Captain Tod Cannady, Brian Smack and “Little” Tod and found 77 degree water where they released a white marlin and boxed a 55 pound yellowfin and 30 mahi.

Bow fisherman extraordinaire Captain Marc Spagnola got it done again today in the south bay putting his shooters on some big southern rays and some cow nosed.
