I mentioned in last night’s Daily Angle that the weather man was calling for today to be pretty nasty and that’s exactly how today turned out. It was overcast all day, it rained at times and the wind was cranking out of the east for most of the day. The weather was so crappy that I was surprised that anyone was able to fish at all, but when you want to bend a rod you give it a shot.
Most if not all of the offshore fleet was at the dock today with strong easterly winds and high seas, but there were some back bay fishermen that were able to duck in behind Ocean City and drop some bait for flounder since the water was still clean. Bear down at the Oceanic Pier sent me a couple of shots with some nice flounder that were caught today. “Bluefish” Barry from Silver Spring, MD caught two keepers from the route 50 bridge and Dewayne “Tuff” Anderson from Harrisburg, PA caugth two keepers from the route 50 bridge and one from the bulkhead behind 2nd street.
Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service had a trip in the dreary conditions and like any good flounder fishing captain will do he put his angler on a nice keeper flounder.
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters got Skip McGuire out of retirement for some fishing today and put him on a 17″ keeper flounder and over 20 throwbacks. The crew also released 15 rockfish around the south jetty.
Sean, Andrew and Chase were able to hook into some flounder today aboard the Happy Hooker out of the Talbot Street Pier during the Ocean City Rec and Parks Fishing Camp.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing was out last night for some shooting in the south bay and didn’t only have a beautiful moon to light the way, but he also put his shooters on some good cow nosed and southern ray action.
