Today was the 2nd and final day of the 2023 Ocean City Marlin Club’s Kid’s Classic Tournament and there was some beautiful weather and a bunch of fish caught. Congratulations to all of the junior anglers and to the OCMC for putting on one of the fishing community’s favorite tournaments!
Captain Brian Porter and the crew of the Boss Hogg managed a real nice day offshore today putting tuna, mahi and tilefish in the boat.
Piper Blunt was fishing with her Dad Captain Jeremy during the kid’s classic when she landed her first ever wahoo.
Blake Gunther, Derek Yobst and crew were just one fish short of a five man flounder limit today fishing over ocean structure.
Brian Will caught this 18″ keeper flounder in the East Channel.
Josh Valliant and his crew have had a great summer of fishing so far with tuna and big blueline tilefish.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a tough pick of it today, but he still got his anglers on some sea bass and flounder.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star had a long fluke trip today and there was some good fishing.
Ahhh.. What complaint of today’s weather? Too Calm! Oyyy.. Just Kidding. Take all the days like this we can get. Had twelve more tog condo blocks aboard. Sara & Louis sent them via marine express down to a barge I’ve worked on some while.Scuba guys are going more often now. Maybe some fresh pictures soon. Started fishing soon after we dropped blocks. Started catching too. Never was a hot bite. Nicked a few most everywhere though..Tim boxed a limit; began paying rent before his luck ran dry. Young Mr Jude from up Lewes boxed a sweet 24 inch fluke to win today’s pool… Have a few spots on another 11 hour flounder trip tomorrow. Have fewer still for Tuesday’s sea bass/catch what’s biting trip. And Wednesday? Lost a dern Charter. All but wide open for Wednesday’s ‘catch what we can’ run..
